Join us for a ‘Health Walk’!
Friday 22nd September
Meet: Main entrance to Macdonald Highland Resort
Have you heard about ‘Health Walks’?
They are free, short, safe, social, low-level, local walks for people of all abilities, helping the inactive to become more active. Over 550 take place across Scotland every week, led by volunteer Health Walk leaders!
Scotland is one of only three countries in the world to have a National Walking Strategy. Paths for All, a national Scottish Charity, help to put this into action by championing walking for everyone, everyday, everywhere. Come along and find out how!
You will experience what a Health Walk involves; hear how Paths for All supports them through working in partnership with organisations like the Cairngorms National Park Authority; and find out about over 20 different Health Walks taking place across the Cairngorms National Park and its boundaries, all led by volunteers.
We will be walking for approximately one hour on accessible paths and tracks around Aviemore’s green spaces. No special clothing is required, just a pair of comfy shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.
Everyone is welcome. If you would like to come, please add your name to the list at the Cairngorms National Park Authority ‘Information’ desk throughout the week, or at the Paths for All stand in the ‘Marketplace’ on Friday.
